Well she has the bovine valve. She is out of surgery and all OK. According to the doctor she did have a sizeable opening, (bigger that caroline) and the valve did need to be replaced. (beef it is what's for dinner) She also did have a blockage and that was bypassed. There was a scare with the blood pressure after they closed her. It went too high, so they had to open her up and then they shocked it back into rhythm. The next 24 hours she will be closely watched and the doctor will not relax until tomorrow.
On the good news front the dissection (remember the dissection?) is in good shape, has healed nicely and had no change in the past few years.
We will get to see her in the next hour.
So far so good. Please keep your good vibes coming!

Then I won't relax until tomorrow either. I'm glad the surgery is over though. Thank you, Paige, for your role in this. I'm sure Caroline is more than grateful. My best to Russ and Kate, about whom I've so many good things.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paige. Please keep the details coming as soon as you are able to update us. Thanks for including the timeline of events in your reports. The posting time is not coming up correctly. Looks like it may be West Coast time (did Russell and Kate arrange that?). That really makes your mentioning the time so helpful. I know she is in good hands but it will be nice to get past these 24 hours. Love to all of you.
ReplyDeleteTim and I are sending the healing vibes and positive bow wows from the golden girls at the Britt ranch. Please let us know if you need anything looked after at the house and give Jane our very best. Thoughts and prayers abound.
ReplyDeleteLove to you all from the vandenBurgs. We are glad things are going well. Can't wait to hear more good news
ReplyDeleteSo glad she's out of surgery and doing well. Keep us posted. Thinking of you guys!
