Wonder of Wonders

Well I walked in to a wide-awake Jane today. She was bright eyed and bushy tailed sitting in her bed. I showed her the photos from yesterday and the first thing she said was “oh my hair doesn’t look to bad.” It is always good to know where your priorities are.

The Doctor came in and removed all tubes, so that is great, so she is tube free and walking around Nelson six. She did two laps today, one with a walker and one without. And she was a speed demon; I think she was walking faster than pre-Bessie. However on our stroll on the floor they put up a certificate of accomplishment if you break 90 laps, also there are now women on it. I now have a dream. A dream that 1-day Jane Prugh will hold the record for most laps completed. (107 is the record) I tried to fuel her by saying the 70 year old transplant patient just lapped you, but she told me to hush. We then found out he did not have surgery yet so that kind of blew that motivation out of the water. I have also decided to create the Bovine Games. We will hold an event during the summer to measure the progress of our new mootestant.

In other news Jane is still bored but can stay awake through a whole movie. I fell asleep and she was right there with it, and then she even played cards with Caroline so I think her mind is intact. That was about all for today.

We do have do give a shout out to Carole Walsh who was Henry’s savior today. Jane thought she would be home so she did not book a dog walker, Carole came in and saved the day, and I came home to no wet spots!

  2. What a lovely picture of domesticity you painted, Paige - strolling, watching movies, playing cards, a room with a lovely view. This is sounding positively resort-vacation like! How about I come join the party? Actually, maybe I will volunteer for dog walking duty instead. Henry and I have the system down so we may as well work it. Please don't hesitate to call on me. I will be available Monday for sure. I await my instructions. As for you, Jane, NO TUBES! Hooray! I'm glad the new hair style is working for you. I really liked it in your most recent photo. It was so thoughtful of Russell to snap it and post it to reassure all of us that you look downright normal. By the way, you've lost weight, haven't you? Do they have liver on the menu at Hotel Hopkins? Hope you are feeling as great as you look. x0x0x0x0x0 Marilyn

Don't think back to some breathing test long ago.You have strong lungs and we are waiting to hear today's new numbers!
I know you're not the competitive one in our crew but it's a good goal to get your name on the 6th floor record board!
Love You and do very much wish I could get in on some Spain game
    instead of work.

  7. Hi Jane. Playing cards? Without your friendly little Bridge group. We are jealous. Oh well, it will keep you in practice for when you come home. Keep up the good work on those laps...and stairs? Just tell them that you've got plenty of stairs at home, inside and outside. That is your "cow run". Just put a salt lick (or a bag of salty peanuts or pretzels) and a Jane Austen movie at the top of the steps for encouragement. All the best with your recovery. You're a real trooper and we're all very proud of you. Continued kudosto you and to Caroline and Paige for their support and good news about you. We look forward to having you home soon. We miss you just as much as Henry! Ginnie V.

  8. Great news that you're up, about, and tubeless Jane! We are waiting for news of your record breaking exploits on this side of the Atlantic - we know you can do it! 108, here we come!

Being British we'll have to skip the jokes about cows given our, ahem, somewhat chequered history in that department and leave it to the professionals.

Wishing you all the very best, Jane! Hope you're home to see Henry soon!

    Love

    Phil & Amy
