The first Day with Bessie
Well we walked over today and saw Mama Jane right away. She looks great considering; she was on an operating table for six hours. Caroline is having fun saying, it’s not fun is it craving water. In one sense it is comforting to know that Caroline has been through this pain before so we know what to expect. Jane was chatting away with the most excellent nurse Kyle, who is cute and funny. She will be staying in the ICU today, and might be moved to a room tomorrow. She is in good sprits and chatting away. I asked her what if she had anything to say to her adoring fans, and she said something about Obama. I will reinterpret her.
What Jane Said- “No drama obama, caused some drama”
What I say- Thank you to my adoring public, all your thoughts and well wishes were received with hugs and kisses, and I can’t wait to see you all. Oh the stories I have to tell you. I cannot wait to regale you with my dance with death.
Once we speak with the doctor I will post again, and please send her messages, as I will read them to her.

Wait, now was she dancing with Obama on the operating table? I'm so confused but then I think Mama Jane may be, too. At least she is enjoying her confusion! Jane is such a good chatter and it's wonderful to hear she feels well enough to chat up the nurses. You go, girl! Can't wait to get a phone call from you.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know Jane's doing well and would prefer she dance with Obama as opposed to death any day!! We continue to send healing vibes and wishes for a speedy recovery! Cheers -Angie and Tim
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, We've been keeping vigil for you here at the Hammacks, including Big Phillip who has been with me for a couple days. Little Phillip says that the bovine valve will last you at least fifteen years; the plastic would have caused birth defects!! Love you, Cathy
ReplyDeleteAunt Jane,
ReplyDeleteSara, Ella and I all send our love!! So glad to hear everything is going well today. Thinking of you and can't wait to see you soon :)

Bob and I both send love,
Jan
Hi dear Jane,
ReplyDeleteJohn and I had the most wonderful time at dinner on Sunday and we can't wait to see you again once you get home and settled. Until then, we'll be thinking of you.
Sending much love xoxo Katie
HI Jane - A whole bunch of Presbyterians prayed for your quick recovery last night. Did you hear Scottish bagpipes playing?
ReplyDeleteAl and I are so glad to hear you are doing well. But Al thinks your relationship with Obama may affect your healthcare! He says, "Be careful."
Love and hugs.
Jean
Thank goodness for the luck of the Irish that came your way, Jane. I wonder if your new "Bessie" valve is green. Well, whatever color, I'm ecstatic that you have a new one and that it's working well for you. You've come through this "with flying colors". I'm so happy for you and hope that you're soon out of recovery and into your own bed. Bless you dear friend. Much love, Ginnie
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness. Not only do we share a love for the junior "Prughs" of Seattle, but for Obama, too! Now, you have to get well....dancing is just what the doctor ordered - for both of you!
