Later that night.
Sing the song of joy Jane Prugh has left the ICU! At 5:00 our fearless patient left the ICU and moved to the cardiac care wing. She looked 100 percent better than she did this morning, and felt better too. Russ snapped some photos for you all.
In other news with Jane Jane out of the ICU Russ and Kate head back to Seattle Sunday at 8am, I will head back to the hospital at that time.
Jane can now get flowers or singing telegrams if you so choose.
She does not want visitors yet, but I am bringing movies and audio books to fill her time. The nurse said she could get out in 4-5 days, but who knows anymore.
Thank you so much for the poems and things she loves it.
P
PS the view of Hopkins is what she looks at, can you belive it.
Jane, you don't look the worse for wear! Your "moving" pictures look just like the off-to-surgery one. It's also reassuring that Russ and Kate feel secure enough to leave this morning, although I'm sure that's not great for you. They're leaving you in the good hands of Caroline and Paige. Thank God for all of them. Keep up the good work. So many people love you and I'm one of them.
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Ricardo Montalban (as performed by Billy Crystal!) "Jane - you look marvelous darling!" Seriously, Tim said he thought you were sick. He looks worse with a cold than you do after open heart surgery. We're both so glad you're on the road to recovery even if there are a few miles to go. Step by step and you'll be there in no time.
ReplyDeleteI have some audio books I'll leave at your house in case you need additional entertainment content.
Thanks very much Paige for keeping us updated on Jane's progress and let us know if you need any help with the pets!
Cheers and best wishes! Angie and Tim
Jane -
ReplyDeleteYou do indeed look fabulous. Wow! And I like the new hairdo - looks like a keeper. Doug and I are so impressed with how well you are doing and know you will continue to do so. You'll be out of there in no time, knowing you, and well on the way to recovery.
We love the blog and thank everyone for keeping us updated. Much better than the non-stop cell-phoning in the hallway as I did.
Take care - our thoughts are with you. Anne
Jane, you look like a million dollars! A picture really is worth a 1000 words! Thanks, Russ, for snapping your Mom so we can all see how well she's doing. And thanks, Paige for all the great updates. Love the view from your window, Jane. But remember, the view out your back window at home is pretty spectacular in spring. Hurry home to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteLoads of love,
Jean and Al
Are you wearing lipstick?
ReplyDeleteBut of course you have a room with a view. Leave it to Jane to have an EM Forster room...George Emerson: My father says that there is only one perfect view, that of the sky over our heads. Cecil Vyse: I suspect your father has been reading too much Dante.
Love you, Janie! Sitina and I can not wait to see you!
Oh my! A hospital gown never looked so good. You have made my day!
ReplyDeleteDear Mama Jane,
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see you again. This week I went camping and went to Kentucky and feed horses. Paige feed me lots of pizza when she took care of me. I hope you get pizza too.
Love
Hugh
PS YOU ROCK MAMA JANE
Jane, it made me very happy to see you with a smile on your face and on your feet to boot. Like Anne, I think your new coif is quite becoming--it certainly doesn't look like something the doctor ordered. In fact, I think that if the photo were cropped, you might be mistaken for a Jane Austen character in her cap and flowery frock.
ReplyDeleteEddie and I are so grateful to Paige for setting up the blog, especially when it's brought such reassuring news of your progress. We're have our fingers crossed that the estimated time of your return home holds true. Judging from what I saw in the botanic garden yesterday, you should find Dr. Merrill in bloom and Jane not far behind.
Love and kisses,
Sarah and Eddie
There's that smile! Who else but Jane can look so wonderful after surgery? What a thrill to see you up and around. Paige has done a wonderful job keeping us informed, but nothing will be like having you next door again. We'll be waiting with open arms!
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs,
Janet
Hi There Jane!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures! We loved the wave to your fan club, and it looks like they have rolled out the red carpet for you as you make your "rounds around the hospital". Please keep getting the scoop on everyone because it will be more material for your novel. What would Jane Austin frame this experience? We know that you are working hard, and we so appreciate that you are staying on task so you can be home soon with all of us. We love you lots, Conn and Linda
More from Emily Dickinson novel . . . she and her sister-in-law Sue are caring for wounded soldiers:
ReplyDeleteSue was enraptured by that picture of Emily darting everywhere. "Darling, you amaze me."
And Emily pouted like a little girl. "Why, Susie, just because I never learnt to make a decent bandage, that don't mean I'm dumb as a cow."
Sorry . . . I couldn't help myself! This book is becoming rather strange, a real stretch, I'm thinking.
Hope you've had a restful day, Jane. I doubt they offer much opportunity for that though, what with all the walking and breathing! We all know you'll continue to shine though.
You know....I just wrote this long diatribe - about how great the photos are - how terrific you look - how I'm sure you feel even better since that initial blog was posted and the flipping thing disappeared!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, was also rambling on about Obama and this day for him - lawsy - and would say health care's success would be your testimony! And I want to thank your "children" - awesome "reporting!"
Just much love to you!! Mary
