With a cheering team in the blogosphere who needs Caroline and I anymore.
All your wishes and warm thoughs help her yesterday. She would not do the stairs but did a total of 11 laps. I think the floor nurses wonder about us, because Jane and I bicker the whole walk, I will give you an example of conversations.
Jane- I have never breathed right.
Me- you have to breath right, or you would be dead.
Jane- I take small steps, I have never taken large steps.
Me.- PT told you to take big slow steps, and look up.
Jane- I never look up
Me- then how do you know where you are going.
Jane- I only want to do 1 lap.
Me- do two
Jane – no, I am tired.
Me- well if you can fight with me you can do one more lap.
On the news front it looks like Mooma will be heading home on Thursday! So we will now establish the visitor’s rules.
1- Email or call (do not call house call cell) to schedule an appointment. For a visit or drop off food ect.
2- I will then add your visit to the pages category of the blog, so you can know what time slot is free.
3- When you come over, you may not just sit and chat, you have to make Mooma move to 3 chairs or a lap in the house or garden during the span of your visit.
a. Failure to do lap or move to a new chair could impede further visits.
4- No cookies or treats may be given to Mooma until she has completed her task of the day.
Failure to do this will result in being locked in a room with Puck, the bipolar kitty.
So lets bring our new and improved mooma home! Thanks again for the warm wishes.
P
I think the appropriate word is "banter" not bicker because there's an awful lot of laughter going on throughout those walks...although she did swat you with her robe belt yesterday...hmm.

Yay, Jane! Show them who's boss! Of course, you know that the slavedrivers really love you or they wouldn't push and push. Only a week in the hospital--wonderful news. Just keep Henry at bay on your arrival home tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you all day.
ReplyDeleteI want to know who gets locked in a room with Puck the bipolar cat! I am lol! Thats the best yet.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could come and visit but I will be there in spirit cheering Jane on. The laps in the garden sound wonderful.
Much love,
The Kentucky Crew
Jane - what wonderful "task masters" you have!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!! HAVE DONE IT!! ARE DOING IT!! Just an awesome recovery and "on point!" AND going home tomorrow? Incredible progress and answered prayers!! Keep it up! Am cheering you on! Have VERY LARGE pom-poms and megaphone! (think Paige does too!)
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you!
Oh Janie-there is so much to celebrate! Lucky for you to have such dedicated assistance.
ReplyDeleteHenry is going to be soooo excited to see you. So will we. We will have to jump on the schedule.
Paige--next week is my spring break and I will be in town. Anything you need, let me know. Our week is pretty much open and I can come visit sans little one if it will help you in any way!
Carry on with the lively banter! It is sure to keep Mooma Jane on her toes.
xxoo
Ha!
ReplyDeleteI love the fine print of the rules, maybe the family needs a second lawyer.
Woohoo! Jane will soon be back in the hood! Yipee!
ReplyDeleteI just watched the walker with Henry and, well, let's just say Henry won. :>) Just kidding - he went for his walk albeit not willingly if the tension of the leash was any indicator.
Great to know the wardens are in control. We're here if you need us. Paige - we do have a bike pump when you're ready to take a spin.
We're looking forward to seeing you all soon when it's appropriate.
Cheers -Angie and Tim
So glad you are doing so well.It sounds as if most of the population of the US is rooting for you. Well just know we Brits are too!
ReplyDeleteLots of love from all here.
Janice and Chris
Jane, You are as beautiful, charming and courageous as ever.... body, mind, and spirit.

What delightful news! It is supposed to be a bit cooler tomorrow, but definitely NO SNOW in the forecast. We will need to get a stop watch and whistle for Paige and maybe we can get Henry as junior coach for laps. Lord knows there is no one more attuned to the work for treats theory.

Jane, enjoy your ride home tomorrow. You will be amazed at how much spring has suddenly burst forth. Even though it's a tad scary you will be just fine and think about how nice it will be to see Mr. Henry and the lovely view out all your windows, well, most of your windows. I think you will get much better rest at home and start getting the old energy level back much quicker. I'm hoping to see you really soon and give you a very gentle hug. Much love to you, Marilyn
ReplyDeleteIf today is the Call to Arms, tomorrow must be the Charge:Mooma advances on Leith Place. So very glad that you'll be going home tomorrow, Jane. I wish I were close enough right now to sign up for a visit or a turn at cooking, but that'll have to wait a couple of weeks. I'm a tough taskmaster when it comes to laps and such--I trained on my highly resistant mother after she had knee surgery. Much love and keep on lappin'.

Paige and Jane,
ReplyDeleteWe hope to visit soon with cookies and dinner. Little Maggie's smile could motivate anyone to make a few extra laps, so I'll bring her too. So glad to hear you'll be going home soon!
